Safe Use of ChairsThe Nirvana Chair and The Hug Chair are intended as an aid to relaxation. They should not be used as a toy or a swing; gentle rocking only. They are designed for use by one person at a time with a maximum weight of 18 stones (115 kilograms). Children should be supervised at all times and helped in and out of the chair by an adult. SITTING:- Nirvana Chair, long chair. DO NOT SIT ON THE FRONT OF THE CHAIR. Always enter or exit the chair from the side. Stand with the back of your legs touching the side of the chair. Bend knees slightly and grip the chair with your hands. Sit gently into the chair so that your weight is positioned directly below the top hook of the chair. Sit back and raise your legs onto the sheepskin. To exit the chair, please reverse this procedure. SITTING :- Hug Chair, short chair. Stand with the back of your legs touching the front of the chair. Bend your knees slightly and grip the front of the chair with your hands. Gently sit down and back into the chair so that your weight is positioned directly below the top hook of the chair. When seated, take care not to trap fingers or hands between the stand and the chair. The stand should be situated on a horizontal flat surface, with enough room so that the chair will not touch anything when rotated. We advise that two people hang the chair on the stand as the chairs are quite heavy. When hanging the chair from a beam we recommend that you employ the services of a competent builder. Chairs are normally supplied with sheepskins fitted. If used outside we suggest removing the sheepskin as this should not be allowed to become wet. It can be removed by lifting the two small hooks from the horizontal bar at the back of the chair. If used outside for prolonged periods the chair and stand can be polished every so often to maintain the shine. Stainless steel polish can be obtained from most good hardware stores. Replacement sheepskins can be ordered from us, if required. Please keep this information sheet for future reference.
